MAGIC STAFFING CO.

FAQ

Straight answers.

For companies first, then candidates. Something we didn't cover? hello@magicstaffingcompany.com.

For companies

How fast can you deliver candidates?

It depends on the trade, role, and market — a setter in a major Texas metro moves faster than a veteran closer in a small one. We give you an honest timeline on the intake call and update you as the search runs.

What does your vetting actually look like?

A structured screen before you see a name: real experience in the trade, verifiable history, comp expectations, and readiness to knock now — not someday. If they can't hold a door conversation, they don't reach yours.

Do you employ the reps?

No. We're a recruiting service. We find and vet independent contractors; you engage them directly under your own 1099 agreement. They're never on our payroll, and we don't manage them after placement.

What does 1099 placement mean for my company?

You get the talent without adding employees: no payroll burden from us, no middle layer. Your contractor agreement and classification practices stay yours — we recommend having your own counsel bless your 1099 setup.

What do you charge?

A simple per-placement fee, quoted on your first call. No retainers, no subscriptions, no exclusivity, no fee to search.

What if a placement doesn't work out?

If an early placement doesn't stick, we work with you on a replacement — terms agreed up front, before any fee changes hands.

What markets do you cover?

Texas. If you're hiring for Texas turf — or staging crews into it — we can work together.

Can you build out a whole team?

Yes — multi-rep orders across roles (setters, closers, crew leads) are what we're built for. Tell us the headcount and the season, and we'll plan the pipeline with you.

For candidates

Does it cost me anything?

No. Never. Companies pay our fee — candidates don't pay a cent, at any stage.

What kind of pay are these roles?

These are commission-based independent-contractor (1099) opportunities. Earnings depend on the trade, the comp plan, and your performance — we tell you the structure straight before you interview.

I've never knocked doors. Can I still apply?

Yes — some companies take coachable rookies, especially for setter roles in peak season. Be straight about your experience on the application and we'll match you honestly.

What happens after I apply?

We review your application, and if there's a fit we set up a short screen call. When a matching opportunity opens, we submit you to the company and they run their own interview. You decide what you accept.
